Pleasantly surprised; I didn't remember there being that many, but then again, I probably didn't go to them because they were more for people just starting out...

You make an excellent point about unconference sessions, and I forgot all about those; some of the best things I saw in the last couple of years were these sessions. 

One thing that I'll say about Devcon: I've now been to about 10 of them, and in 2009 I was standing in the hall, running my mouth (no surprise there); a woman was looking for a developer in Tennessee, heard me talking, looked at my badge, and unbeknownst to me, checked up on me. A month later her boss called me; I got hired to redo their systems 2 days later, and have been on a nice retainer with them now for almost 5 years. 

So there's more to Devcon than just learning about new technology... :)
