If I use a desktop client, the script performs the relookup just fine; if I were to nuke the ID field and re-enter the clientID, it works fine. 

If I trigger the script from the web, the script runs, setting a test field every time, but the relookup never occurs, even though it's the same script I fired manually using FM client.

That might be the key, perhaps you've answered it for me; I'll double-check that. I know the ID field is, but I don't know whether all the others are there.
