[FX.php List] FMS 11, Win2003 and Apache

Hi,

I think I may have misunderstood where you were in the process of getting this working. I understood that you had things installed on IIS but were wanting to switch to using Apache. It now begins to look like you're actually doing a 'fresh' install of FMS 11 and trying to go directly to an Apache config. That won't work...!

What does work is this;
Ensure that IIS is running on the target machine, and listening on port 80 (This will mean stopping Apache, ensuring that IS is correctly configured on the machine, then starting IIS)
Complete the FMS install and deployment, selecting IIS as the web server
Test that this has worked, and that all of the web-related test pages load correctly.
Stop and disable IIS
Follow the instructions in the previously supplied pdf
Test the Apache config using httpd -t
Once that is all good start Apache

You should then find that everything FMS web related still works, but that now you're using Apache as the web server not IIS.

Others may have different experiences, and may be able to provide a shorter process, however this is the way that I've successfully achieved what you're trying to do on multiple previous occasions.

Hopefully one day soon FMI will realise that this is possible, that there are now lots of people out there who want to use Apache on Windows, and make what must be relatively minor modifications to the web deployment 'engine' to accommodate Apache on Win (especially since they already have all the necessary steps for deployment on Mac ;-)

Hope this helps... keep us posted.

Cheers
Steve
