Jonathan,
Probably the 'tightest' way of doing this is to install/utilise a spell
checker in the users browser.
And the simplest way to do that is to encourage everybody to ditch idiot
explorer (opps, I mean Internet Explorer) and install FireFox since current
versions of FF come with a very powerful, built in spell checker, which
automatically spell checks anything you enter into a form, allows you to
select language, add to a custom dictionary etc etc....
If they 'insist' on using IE, then take a look at the option of exploring
IEspell, see http://www.iespell.com/ which basically does the same, as
FireFox, but must be installed as an app on each users machine...
The other option which I've looked at in the past, but never implemented
fully is DbNetSpell http://www.dbnetspell.com/dbnetspell/default.aspx which
based on the demos, and the little that I've done with it looks to be an
excellent product...
Cheers
Steve

Subject: [FX.php List] Teachers need spell checker
Remember the request to do school progress reports that would use FPDF?
Turns out the teachers want a spell checker in the system. Wouldn't
look good to send mistakes home to mom and dad. ;-)
Any favorites out there? Perhaps this is a job for javascript. Not
sure if it for AJAX, although I don't have time to learn it for this
project.
Thanks
J
