Hey Joel,

FPDF uses the fonts that are in its "font" folder. If you're using  
any of the standard fonts that come with FPDF, you are subject to the  
metrics of those versions. If you want to use anything besides the  
default fonts, you'll have to render your own. This process is  
documented (though poorly, in my opinion) along with FPDF.

I can't imagine why this would behave differently because of the  
computing platform being used by the person logged into your site. I  
have not experienced this with my FPDF implementations, but then I am  
always using my own versions of fonts.
