[FX.php List] [Off-Topic] CDML/Web Server Connector consistently crashing

Jonathan,

I don't know about the Windows version of WSC, but on the Mac there  
was a known memory leak in WSC for FileMaker 5.0 Unlimited.

The only remedy is to restart the server...

If they have FileMaker Server, they could install that and then not  
have to worry about corruption when FileMaker Unlimited crashes.

Just a guess, but if FMU crashes, then I wonder if the log would  
report a Java problem because WSC can't connect... if FMU is crashing  
frequently then I would assume the problem is there rather than with  
WSC.

We still host almost 100 CDML sites here, and sometimes a client will  
write something goofy in a database that causes trouble. Finding the  
culprit is often incredibly frustrating...

One other thought: if they're using the FMU machine locally AND for  
web duties, they're taxing the machine much more than is wise, IMHO.  
They should consider either getting a 2nd machine or having their  
solution hosted by a 3rd-party hosting company... as luck would have  
it, I just happen to know one! :)
