[FX.php List] Is anyone using FX.php with FMStudio

Stephen,
Well said!
I use Dreamweaver, so I agree that one can always hand-code. I guess
I should look at FMStudio and get a feel for what it does; I have to
say that FXForge didn't do much for me, but when I tried it the app
was still in its infancy, and I'm sure it's much more robust now.
However, and this is why I feel the way the way I do:
When I tried FXForge, it generated code, and I was able to create a
simple little form. However, once I did that, I didn't have a clue
about what was going on, what any of the code meant, or how to tweak
it. I still have clients whose sites I host, who wrote their CDML
using the Claris tool that was given away way back when (I forget its
name now), and never knew how to edit anything that they'd written.
So because they had this tool that enabled them to write code without
learning what they were writing, they never bothered to actually get
in and learn what was going on. As a result, in many cases, they had
to find someone like me to rework their sites, or else their sites
stumbled along half-built for months (if not years in some cases)
working only half-heartedly.
I know there's no comparison between FMStudio and that old CDML tool,
which was pretty lousy. I need to look at FMStudio and see; perhaps
it'll save me some time on some of the forms that I do. You guys have
worked hard on it, I'm sure, and if it weren't for your PHP in 8
Hours seminar, I might have waited months more before diving in and
learning FX.php.
By the way folks, and here's a plug that Stephen certainly didn't ask
for: if you want to learn FX.php and haven't gotten around to diving
in, you might consider FMWebSchool's 2-day seminar; it was perfect
for me, got me started in FX.php programming, and was very well done.
Stephen, I assume you guys still offer these seminars?
Best,
Bob Patin
