[FX.php List] FX.php Requirements

Hi everybody,
 
Is it possible to get FileMaker Pro to do custom web publishing so that
FX.php works, or does FX.php require FileMaker Server Advanced to do
this?
A client wishes to host his website in house, and I want to advise him
which version of FileMaker to upgrade to.
 
I know there is a solution called cafePHP which uses ODBC and works with
FileMaker Pro, but I already have ODBC working, and it's very slow.
