[FX.php List] FX using PHP 5.5?

Is it possible to use FX.php with PHP 5.5? I just tried doing that today, and received the error:
"preg_replace(): The /e modifier is deprecated, use preg_replace_callback instead"

Sure enough, it's deprecated in PHP 5.5, and the DigitalOcean droplet I just fired up is using PHP 5.5.14. I'm willing to contribute to refactoring if somebody else hasn't already figured out a workaround for this!
