[FX.php List] Problem with web publishing on a FM Server 13 machine

I have a Mac server running FM Server 13.0.2; web publishing first started showing odd errors (not doing simple queries), so I stopped web publishing and then restarted it, after which it totally stopped working.

I repaired permissions, no joy;

I then redeployed the WPE, but that didn’t solve it;

I then uninstalled FMS 13 and re-installed it, applying the update to get it to 13.0.2.

Now the PHP test page fails; WebDirect works though.

Here’s the error that I get when I try to run the FMS 13 server test page:

The PHP connection to the FMServer_Sample database failed.
An unexpected erorr occurred. Consult the FileMaker documentation for additional assistance. (XML error: Not well-formed (invalid token) at line 1)

Anyone have any ideas about this?
