Sorry to jump in, but I'm getting this idea, and I like it. Amazon Web Services in this case would be your server infrastructure, not the host. You'd have to put your own copies of the relevant software on a Windows EC2 instance and go from there. As mentioned before, the static content could be stored on S3. All kinds of options really. You could get instances on the East and West Coast and there's your load balancing. Cool.
