For a two machine installation, if you are running any piece of FileMaker
server on the second machine (ie. the web Publishing Engine), you need to
install FileMaker server first on the worker machine. Once you have
installed the WPE on the worker machine, you install FMS on the master
machine, and select the IP of the WPE machine in the installation process
for the master machine. You probably need to uninstall your single machine
server installation, then install the WPE on the worker machine, then
install FMS again on your first machine.

Hope that makes sense.

I have tried multiple times changing the deployment of a FMSA from 1 machine
to 2 (alternate). The second machine is running iis on 2003 server. I want
that machine to be web pub and web server. I cannot find any doc that
explain the error I get. I know the web server is running by testing
http://xx.xx.xx.x.
Do I need to run the FMSA installer on machine 2?
Where is the best info for problem solving deployments?
Thanks,
