[FX.php List] Displaying Progess Bar

Hi Folks,

Having resolved the previous challenge of being able to create a copy 
of a found set of records, I would now like to display a progress bar 
for the time that the server is carrying out the task.

Simply putting an animated GIF on a page along with the php script 
doesn't work.  I believe that that is because the server executes PHP 
first, before returning HTML back to the browser.

So how is this done?

If the answer is javascript, I guess that it is time to start that 
learning curve now. ;-)
