[FX.php List] XML emails?

I have a client who says that he needs to have emails sent from his  
site in XML format; I don't have a clue how to do that. Is that even  
possible, and what exactly would it mean?

Right now I use a PHP script that someone gave me, which sends plain- 
text emails; if anyone has any info about this, I'd appreciate it.
