[FX.php List] [OFF] Trouble with clients trying to download DOCX files from web server

I've got a client whose site users upload text files, and then the  
client downloads them and processes them.

When they try to download '.docx' files, the file actually opens in  
the client's browser, and in the browsers of others. He uses Safari  
with Mac OS 10.4.8, but his fellow workers are on PCs.

I'm in Leopard and not having that trouble.

The server is running OS X Server Tiger; is there a setting somewhere  
that would stop this and force the file to download rather than open?
