In fact I just did that, actually created new folders without spaces in the names, still no luck.

I changed the drive name too, so that it didn't have spaces, but that was odd because it didn't reflect the change on the network, so I got nervous and put it back. I was actually surprised that I _could_ change the name since it was currently being a shared volume (I didn't know you could, seems like you couldn't in MacOS 9).
