[FX.php List] Populating a global field

Hi there experts

I have read in a recent post that it is possible to populate a global
field in Filemaker using FX.php - this used to be a no go, so can
someone please tell me what has changed ?

I am still using FM7SA - is this perhaps the reason why I cannot do it
- or is also in the FX.php code ?

Any answers happily excepted
