[FX.php List] PHP Question

I guess this is more a php question, but does anyone know how to write a piece of code that could write the html for the foundcount of a query from the database in columns, as well as rows?
 
For example:
 
Category1            Category2                  Category3
Category4            Category5                  Category6
 
Instead of:
 
Category1
Category2
Category3
Category4....and so on.
