Andrew,
Yes I understand that concept and it makes good sense. However, I also
know music directors and they might select the Wrong site. Then that
becomes a problem if no one catches it till the week of the contest. So
either way I will have to make 26 runtime versions, so for me, if I can get
the coding to work on the entry part, directing them to the correct DB is
still the best way this year. And yes the data needed is the same for all
26 sites.
Hopefully, in time, we an make the each site work online to schedule
and administer their music contests, then we won¹t need the runtime
versions. Just not enough time to do that before this year¹s contest. We
do have one site that we will work with who will try and work all of the
bugs out and then next year do it all online. I am concerned that some of
the scripts I have written to do the scheduling of all the records are not
web compatible. I am back in school now so development really slows to a
crawl.
Thanks for your input, you are not the first to suggest using one db.
And hopefully we will get to that stage soon.
