[FX.php List] Populating a 'large' text field

As a followup to my earlier post about writing 'large' (over 256 bytes)
text into a field, if a URL is the wrong way to do this due to
limitations on large text chunks, does anyone have another way of
getting large text into Athena from PHP?
 
I could FTP the record over and do an import, but this seems very
awkward...
