[FX.php List] Maximum characters in textarea

Good morning,

I've run into a slight issue and I wonder if someone can verify the
'location' of the problem...

I have a text field on a web page which users enter text into... if there
are more than 6210 characters in the field then I get a 'document contains
no data' error from the browser...

The form is POSTed back to a php page which then uses FX to update a db

Can anyone tell me if this is a limitation of;
  a. the browser
  b. the POST method
  c. PHP in general
  c. FX.php
  d. FMP web companion
  e. FMP in general
