Sorry. I  got one of those answers wrong. ;-(

For perspective, the wildcard cert provides ultimate flexibility, but at a cost. For just the two domains you use in the example, the cost of a wildcard cert versus two individual certs is double (rapidssl: $199 vs 2 x $49 ).  If the domain count is likely to grow or cost is not an issue, the wildcard is a good choice.

It boils down to cost versus convenience versus what your goal is.
