We have a complete management system that: uses MySql as a database engine, and FileMaker as a GUI and CakePHP As a web front End. It currently runs in seven gyms in Sydney. One of which has 3800 active members, and 10,000+ prospects. The system incorporates both barcode scanning and POS and generates ABA files for bulk billing with your bank.

At least from my point of view something pretty much ready to go will be a LOT (by many orders of magnitude!!) easier than continuing to tweak and fudge these files to do what's needed.
