This is known as the 'trailing slash' issue in the httpd.conf file.
Something to do with mod_dir I believe.

Subject: [FX.php List] [OT?] URL changes to port 16080

Hi Folks.

This is one of those annoying little things which involves my work
with php, but php is not the culprit.

Whenever a URL is typed in without a file name but without the final
slash, the server replies by switching to port 16080 on the URL line.

www.mydomain.com/abc  ---> www.mydomain.com:16080/abc/

When the final slash is typed in or, the filename after the slash is
typed in, there is no problem.

Web Server is Apache.

Why is that?

Jonathan
