OK, I just added a single-quote, and it worked... So this means that the former Word text that I converted to plain- text has apostrophes in it rather than single-quotes... Am I right about this? If so, is there a simple workaround for this, like a substitution command for apostrophes? Driving me crazy here... :) Bob
