[FX.php List] FM 7 and LDAP

I'm not sure this question is appropriate for the listserv but I know
there are some really good FM people here. I was wondering if there is a
way to make LDAP calls from within the Filemaker app. I have an FM 7
database that is accessed with a FM 7 client. Is there a way to have
Filemaker lookup information from a LDAP record when a new record is
created? I know you can create a script that accepts SQL commands but
can't find anything LDAP related. Thanks,
